Our Mission 

The Wilson Community Farmers Market is a non-for-profit community-driven, volunteer-run market in Wilson, NY. Our mission is to:

• Support local farmers, bakers, and small businesses
  
  

• Increase access to locally produced foods & goods
  
  

• Strengthen community connections & Keep dollars circulating in our local economy
  
  

• Create fun, family-friendly events where neighbors can gather
  
  

The market is organized in collaboration with local businesses, including Brownies Custard Stand and The Lemon Room, and continues to grow each season with support from community members and local vendors.

Our Story 

The Wilson Community Farmers Market began in 2019, brought to life by Janet Hoffman, Director of the Wilson Community Food Pantry. In the early years, the market was held in the parking lot of the Wilson House, where a small group of local vendors gathered to share fresh food, handmade goods, and community spirit.

At the close of the 2023 season, Janet made the difficult announcement that the market would not continue. Many vendors chose not to return due to low foot traffic surrounding the then-closed Wilson House, making it unclear whether the market had a future.

That’s when the owners of Brownies Custard Stand reached out. Wanting to keep the market alive for the community, they offered to host the market on the Brownies property. With the addition of cruise nights, live music, and the bustling custard stand, the Farmers Market was reborn in the summer of 2024.

What started as a small collection of vendors has grown into a vibrant seasonal series of markets and pop-up events featuring:

• Farms and food producers from the Wilson area and beyond
  
  

• Home bakers and cottage-based small businesses getting their start
  
  

• Artists and makers showcasing their work
  
  

• Community groups and local causes that strengthen our village
  
  

Each season, we refine the layout, welcome new vendors, and create even more ways for people to connect, shop local, and discover everything Wilson has to offer.
